As one of Southern California's most accomplished wedding planners, Kathy Smith thrives on inspiration. Whether she's collaborating with a bride to create a memorable wedding day or consulting with corporate clients on special events, inspiration is the theme in all she does.
As co-owner of ADORe Productions with her husband, Tefft, Kathy has more than five years experience in event and wedding planning. As the creative collaborator for brides (and grooms!) on nuptials both traditional and avante garde, Kathy always endeavors to fully realize the vision the couples have for their wedding day.
“Whether the bride is looking to create a destination wedding or to be married right here in Southern California, the most important factors that come into play are inspiration, creativity and, of course, budget,” said Kathy, with her easy, frequent giggle and sparkle in her blue eyes. “ADORe Productions has the capability to work with couples in a variety of budget ranges. And we have the talent and vendor relationships – with hotels, caterers, florists and more – to make their dream wedding a reality.”
So immersed is she in the wedding planning business that Kathy decided last year to launch the ADORe Productions subsidiary, Brides on the Go (BOTG). Designed as a way to link together brides with the top wedding planners, BOTG has evolved into an upscale networking forum where brides can spend the evening socializing and interviewing the best the industry has to offer in wedding planning services, products and vendors.
“We're very excited about Brides on the Go,” said Kathy. “The response has been overwhelming. A bride can surf the internet for wedding planners for days on end, but what it really comes down to is actually finding, meeting and connecting with the planner who's right for you. Brides on the Go helps brides and planners get to that moment quicker.”
With the Los Angeles Brides on the Go forum well under way, the company and its innovative concept is attracting notice from major bridal-focused corporations with an interest in taking Brides on the Go nationwide.
“That would be my dream,” said Kathy. “My life is completely wedding-focused already, so I'm looking forward to continuing my wedding planning business and seeing what's on the horizon as we take Brides on the Go to a national level.”
